Hesse Pump Track
Ferry County Sunrise is thrilled to be organizing and promoting plans to construct a pump track in Republic! You may be asking yourself, “What is a pump track?” A pump track is a continuous loop of “berms” and “rollers” that can be ridden without pedaling by using your arms and legs to “pump” or propel yourself. Its shape enables a fun, but safe exercise activity. Asphalt pump tracks are suitable for all size bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters and similar. Any and all ages can participate!
The pump track will be constructed in Hesse Park, across from the Tiger Trail. This site will allow for numerous recreational opportunities, including mountain biking trails, sledding hills, camping, and more.
The project timeline includes having the land cleared and developed by late spring, the pump track formed early to late summer, and paved late summer 2018.
The only way to accomplish this project will be with the support of our community. How can you help? If you have a specific skill, such as logging or engineering, and are willing to volunteer, please contact us! We also need volunteers who are able to help us on specific “work days” which will include cleaning up the area after it is cleared, forming the track, testing the track, and helping with the paving of the track. If you are willing to come out and help, we will find a job for you! You can also show your support by making financial contributions to the project. We are currently looking into the possibility of setting up a GoFundMe.
Our community and youth will greatly benefit from having this recreational opportunity in Republic. We look forward to seeing your support as we move forward with plans for this exciting project! If you have any questions or if you are interested in volunteering, please email us at info@ferrycountysunrise@outlook.com.
